So I had this week off work (yay!) and we managed our first holiday with child in tow. Liz completely filled the car up with all sorts, very little was for the two of us of course, and we set off for Center Parcs (having already arranged the finance with the bank manager who needed to be involved for the sums of money that CP want for a chalet for 3 nights!) for some fun in the forest!
I had never been to CP before and I enjoyed it a lot. It was pricey, you can't get away from that, but it was a nice environment and I can see how if you had some older kids it would be fabulous given all the activities that were available. The staff were also pretty good with Ethan and his allergies they cooked him up some nice chicken that was free from anything he doesn't react well to.
We did take some photo's and some video's, and seeing as i had some time this week whilst Ethan was napping I have created a video of the holiday. Assuming I get this to work, it should be just below:
It is about ten mins so be warned, but I thought it was nice as often the videos just sit on the computer an no one ever sees them. The swimming (end of the video) was great and Ethan really enjoyed that, that was the only thing (along with soft play in the sports cafe) that he could really get stuck into.
Would I recommend CP to others? I think so, but it is going to cost you, and I think you need to be little more organised than we were in terms of activities and cycles and play groups / babysitting etc Eating out was not cheap but not massively over the top either. There were loads of different sports and things, and the canoeing looked pretty good. Maybe i will do a "proper" review on my next post? That might give me something to talk about? I will think, about that, in the meantime enjoy the video - it was the first time I have tried something like this so sorry if it a little rough around the edges...
